Thêm "Open with gedit" vào menu chuột phải trong Ubuntu

Trong cửa sổ dòng lệnh, thực hiện lệnh sau

gedit ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts/Open\ with\ gedit

Copy và Paste đoạn script này vào

Sau đó đóng cửa sổ gedit lại rồi thực hiện lệnh sau

Từ giờ trở đi, khi bạn click chuột phải lên 1 file nào đó bạn sẽ nhìn thấy dòng Open with gedit được xuất hiện trên menu

Gán phím nóng (Hotkey) để mở cửa sổ dòng lệnh trong Ubuntu

Vào mục System \ Preferences \ Keyboard Shortcuts:



Ở dòng “Run a terminal”, click vào cột Shortcut rồi gán phím tiện ích để mở cửa sổ dòng lệnh theo ý của mình

Cấu hình cho Ubuntu tự động kiểm tra các bản cập nhật hàng ngày

Một trong những ưu điểm hấp hấp dẫn nhất của Ubuntu đó là tính năng Automatic update, nó giúp bạn luôn cập nhật được những phiên bản mới nhất của các phần mềm và các bản vá bảo mật cho máy tính của bạn một cách kịp thời.

Click chọn System \ Administration \ Software Sources



Trong tab Internet Updates, chọn thời gian bạn muốn Ubuntu tự động kiểm tra các bản cập nhật (Ở đây chọn Daily)

Disable AutoPlay of Blank CD or DVD media

Ubuntu sẽ tự động chạy chương trình ghi đĩa khi bạn cho đĩa CD (hay DVD) trắng vào, việc này đôi khi có thể sẽ gây ra phiền toái cho bạn. Để tắt bỏ chức năng đó của Ubuntu, bạn vào mục System \ Preferences \ Removable Drives and Media:



Bỏ dấu tích ở phần "Burn a CD or DVD when a blank disc is inserted" xong OK

Enable Smooth fonts on Ubuntu Linux

Để bật tính năng này, bạn cần sửa file .fonts.conf trong home directory. Mở cửa sổ dòng lệnh và nhập lệnh sau

gedit ~/.fonts.conf

Copy và paste lại đoạn code này:

Kiểm tra thời gian truy xuất, chỉnh sửa file trong Ubuntu

Để kiểm tra thời gian truy xuất, chỉnh sửa hoặc thông tin chi tiết về file trong Ubuntu, ta có thể dùng lệnh theo cú pháp sau

stat filename

Ví dụ: Kiểm tra lần cuối cùng chạy Firefox ở trên máy

Install a Drop-Down Console in Ubuntu

Tilda is a console that drops down off the top of the screen, the same way the console in a first person shooter game does, with just the press of a key.
Installing the console is easy. Open up a terminal window and type in the following command:

sudo apt-get install tilda

The properties dialog will pop up, just close it for now. Hit the F1 key, and down pops the console:



So useful! I don’t think I’ll ever use the regular console again. If you want to get to the properties window to change some of the settings, just right click the window and choose preferences.
